WHEATON, Ill., Jun 11, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- First Trust/Aberdeen Emerging Opportunity Fund (the "Fund") FEO -0.05% today declared its regularly scheduled quarterly distribution payable of $0.35 per share payable on June 29, 2012 to shareholders of record as of June 22, 2012. The ex-dividend date is expected to be June 20, 2012. The quarterly distribution information for the Fund appears below.

The Fund's current policy is to make level distributions each quarter in the amount of $0.35 per share.
The majority, and possibly all, of this distribution will be paid out of net investment income earned by the Fund. A portion of this distribution may come from net short-term realized capital gains and/or return of capital. The final determination of the source and tax status of 2012 distributions will be made after the end of 2012.
The Fund is a closed-end management investment company that seeks to provide a high level of total return. The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its managed assets in a diversified portfolio of equity and fixed-income securities of issuers in emerging market countries.
