Aberdeen Asia-Pacific Income Fund Announces
Plans to Delist Common Shares from NYSE ARCA,
Will Continue on American Stock Exchange

Aberdeen Asset Management

New York, October 12, 2006 – Aberdeen Asia-Pacific Income Fund, Inc. (AMEX: FAX / NYSE Arca: FAX), a closed-end equity fund, announced today plans to withdraw the listing of its common shares from the NYSE Arca, Inc. (“Exchange”), formerly the Pacific Exchange. The Fund’s common stock will continue to be listed on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol “FAX”. The Board of Directors determined to delist the Fund’s common stock from NYSE Arca, Inc. as a result of the Fund’s low trading volume on the Exchange, as well as the expenses associated with paying multiple listing fees.

The Fund does not believe that withdrawing its listing from NYSE Arca, Inc. will have any impact on the liquidity of its stock. NYSE Arca, Inc. will continue to trade the Fund’s common shares on an unlisted trading privileges basis.

The Fund is managed by Aberdeen Asset Management Asia Limited and advised by Aberdeen Asset Management Limited.
