The Retirement Investing Institute is a non-profit educational foundation created in 2006. Its goal is provide education on investing to the general public while never exposing them to product-sales presentations. It maintains a website (www. R-I-I. org) but conducts its teaching mission mainly in classroom and seminar settings rather than over the Internet. This affords novice investors the chance to ask specific questions of knowledgeable pro-bono instructors rather than being directed to canned FAQ responses. Major emphasis is being placed on cooperating with organizations (employers, churches, universities, community organizations, unions, etc.) which can provide convenient venues for volunary-attendance events and whch endorse attendance to their constituents. The Institute hopes in this way to overcome public suspicion about sales pressures that accompany the free-dinner-circuit setting. R-I-I is designated by the IRS as a charitable eductaional foundation under Sec. 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Contributions are welcomed from individuals, corporations, and foundations although overt business sponsorshiips are declined.
